Strawberry Banana Smoothie
I was overwhelmed with the positive response to my new website.
To celebrate here is our all-time favourite smoothie recipe.
Simple. Nutritious. Family Favourite.
Ingredients: 1 generous serving
- 2 and 1/2 apples (or 1 cup apple juice)
- 7 strawberries
- 1/2 an orange
- 1/2 a banana
1. Cut apples in wedges and put through juicer.
2. Sqeeze half an orange.
3. Pour both apple juice and orange juice into the blender.
4. Add strawberries and banana and blend away.
I like making this one in the morning before a training session because it is so quick and easy to prepare and nutritious at the same time. If I need a bit more substance for a longer workout (or a busy day ahead), I add 1 tablespoon of each ground flaxseeds, hemp protein powder and maca powder. At this time of the year you can substitute fresh berries with frozen ones which gives it a thick and creamy texture.
