I'll be based in Constance for the next 6 months working at the University of Constance. Constance is located at the western end of Lake Constance in the south-west corner of Germany, bordering with Switzerland.
It took me a good 2 weeks to get my bearings right. Luckily I had some help from Oli and Marci (who stayed with us in New Zealand 2 years ago) as well as from some friendly locals who are willing to show me around.
I love to explore new places. Although it can be challenging to follow a specific training programme if you don't know the area at all, I'm slowly getting an idea of all the cool trails that are hiding (not signposted) in the cool and shady forest. The area around the lake is surprisingly flat (or maybe not so surprising considering it's a big lake) but the Alps are only an hour drive away and you get a nice glimps of them every now and then in the distance. I sure will find good training ground there for some hill climbing.
