This race was part of the biggest XC Series in South Germany. Each round is held on some of the best trails within the Black Forest. Although there is only one road going through this little village, this community sure knows how to put on a great event with a friendly atmosphere.
Practising the rooty trails the day before was a lot of fun. Based on the laps scheduled for the womens race it was clear that it will be a short and intense race. There was no time for tactics as soon we set off. I rode as hard as I could for 35 minutes and finished a close 2nd behind Lena Wehrle.
My parents van was perfect to get some recovery before heading home.
I also met two girls on the start line who just recently stayed in Nelson for a few months. Turns out that Romy was staying with my friend Tim in Nelson and I ment to go out riding with her few months ago. Such a small world.
