Taking on a new challenge - The Pioneer Stage Race
December 17, 2016
This summer (the NZ summer that is) I will do things slightly different. I've been given the opportunity to race in a multi-day stage race in early February. Firstly, I'd like to say a massive thanks to an incredibly generous bunch of people - Nelson-based berry company Sujon. Without these guys I wouldn't be able to tackle this exciting new challenge.
I have never done a stage race before but always wanted to. I'm super excited and also very lucky to have Erin Green as my team mate. She is an extremely experienced (and successful) endurance 'junky' and I'm sure I can learn a thing or two from her. The photos from last years race look stunning.

The Pioneer Stage race will take us from Christchurch to Queenstown in 7 days covering 550 km and nearly 16,000 km of climbing! I have 8 weeks of training left. I'll be writing a weekly blog to give some insight into my preparation towards this big undertaking. Here is to a summer of adventures, missions and racing.
Each blog post will cover a different aspect of training as I prepare for this new adventure. I will link them here when they are published.
